Welcome To The
University of Orange
The University of Orange is the free people's university.  Therefore, graduation is always
held on
Juneteenth (June 19th or thereabouts).  Also known as Freedom Day or
Emancipation Day, Juneteenth celebrates the day the abolition of slavery was announced
in Texas.

By completing all the
graduation requirements, students will have achieved a greater
degree of freedom and are thus awarded the Bachelors of Freedom (
B Free).

U of O also awards advanced degrees, the Masters of Freedom (M Free) and the Doctors
of Freedom (Free D).  You must apply or be nominated to receive an advanced degree.
The requirements are as follows:

M Free: U of O works to empower people by learning from each other and calling each
other to action to teach others how to use resources they already have and others they
might acquire to make our cities just and beautiful cities. If you or someone you know has
led or been engaged in a project that embodies our vision, please nominate them to be
considered for this award.

Free D: At U of O, we recognize that many people take on major projects, which merit an
advanced degree.  We are interested in awarding the Free D for all kinds of projects,
including writing a book, making a film, or building something.  In order to apply for the
Free D, please provide a copy of the work or other documentation, as well as a one-page
bio about the person and how this work matters in his or her's life story.

All nominations should be sent to universityoforange@gmail.com with "M Free" or "Free D"
nomination in the subject line.
